Emulsion with Starch Glue

This formula seems to be promising. Overnight drying , there is no visible cracks. The bigger lump is still soft on the inside, not fully dry yet.

Linework for Dog(1) and Dog(2)

Linework for Dog(1)

Linework for Dog(2)

The Linework is different may be because of difference in materials:
(1) Dog1 ( canvas paper ) Dog2 ( canvas )
(2) Dog1 ( light modeling paste 200ml tube) Dog2 ( light modeling paste 946ml tub )
(3) Dog1 ( small size ) Dog2 ( large size )

Conclusion
After painting Dog(3)on canvas paper , light modeling paste tube
(1)small amount at a time rather than tube or tub is important .
(2)just outline not to fill up the body of the subject

Emulsion with white cement

White cement is an inexpensive material to stack up height. The feel of the mixture is not much different from emulsion , except that is is quick drying which means I need to work fast.

After drying the surface looks fine , except it is brittle and breaks like classroom chalk when bend.

Emulsion with Corn Starch

Heat corn starch and water on a stove until a gel-like mass is formed.
Use a knife to mix 50% emulsion with the 50% corn starch. I sure like the texture and feeling of the mixture with the knife.

It is more lumpy if the corn starch is mixed when it is cooled.

cracks appear the next day. The surface feel soft and rubbery.

More cracks appear after a week of drying. The surface feels very hard.

Softening Acrylic Sprays

Rule : Two part painting process : (1) Texture by emulsion paint then (2) spray acrylic paint to color or highlight the texture without changing it.

Problem : The color from the spray can have a "hard" feel.

Solution : The method employed must soften the paint and not compromise the rule.

Method of painting : Spray acrylic color on the wet emulsion base then mix the paint on canvas , then respray and remix , again and again until the color is soften and balanced throughout the canvas.

Method Result : The painting process is still a two-part process (1)spraying of color then (2) mixing which change both texture and color. However step(2) has broken the Rule. Let it be a new exception rule for color sofening.

Product Result : Color softening is achieved , however the emulsion-acrylic mix surface is powdery.
